The weekend of the 4th/5th of February in the Premier League.
Chelsea recorded an impressive win on Saturday afternoon by beating Arsenal 3-1 at Stamford Bridge. Eden Hazard was the star man with a wonderful solo goal. The win put Chelsea 12 points ahead of the chasing pack putting them in firm control of the title race. Liverpool were subject to a shock defeat to relegation battlers Hull City. Jürgen Klopp’s side are going through a dreadful run of form and have fallen out of the top 4 . Jermain Defoe bagged himself a brace as bottom side Sunderland picked up a much needed 3 points away to relegation rivals Crystal Palace. Everton and Bournemouth played out a 9 goal thriller at Goodison Park resulting in a 6-3 win for the home side. Romelu Lukaku scored 4 of the 6 in a Man Of The Match display for the toffees. Tottenham just about kept in touch with Chelsea thanks to a Harry Kane penalty against a spirited Middlesboro side.
Man United recorded a convincing 0-3 win over Leicester City. The win for United means the premier league champions are only 1 point from safety. Manchester City’s new Brazilian superstar Gabriel Jesus scored a 90th minute winner for the blues. A massive win for City in which Sergio Aguero was once again on the bench.
